4. Cheer in the New Year at Noon, Knoxville, TN

Kids need a way to celebrate the new year, too, but since most can’t stay awake until midnight you can help them celebrate with a noon party instead. Head to The Muse, where you and the kiddos can enjoy crafts, a photo booth, snacks, a planetarium show, and a midday ball drop. They won’t miss a bit of sleep, and you’ll have the night to yourself to celebrate in your own way.

However, you can upgrade your experience to include things like hotel stays and party access. Kids and adults of all ages can sit back and enjoy the shows as the final seconds tick down and a show of fireworks fills the sky.

6. New Year’s Eve Dinner Train, Chattanooga, TN

Chattanooga has a rich history steeped in all things railroad, so it’s no surprise that there’s an epic New Year’s Eve dinner train to enjoy. This two-hour trip lets you travel in a 1924 dining car while you enjoy a full meal before you arrive back at the station. You’ll be back long before the clock strikes midnight, giving you time to settle into your next destination and welcome the new year.
