The Riverside golf course has been serving the Mid-South golfing community since 1913. Originally an eighteen hole golf course, it was the first public golf course of it's size in Memphis. The mighty Mississippi River reclaimed part of the original park and golf course but today Riverside is a beautiful 9-hole, par 35 course. Riverside is the closest golf course to Downtown Memphis.
On Wednesday, May 2, 2007, The Links at Riverside reopened for golf. The golf course has several new features:
- A 7700 square foot Clubhouse with Pro-Shop, Grille, and outdoor patio.
- An attached golf car storage area connected to the Clubhouse by a covered breezeway.
- A new putting green.
- Decorative wrought iron entry gates commissioned by the UrbanArt Commission.
