Scarritt-Bennett Center

1008 19th Avenue South

Scarritt-Bennett is a non-profit education, retreat and conference center, located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, on ten tree-filled acres. The ten buildings, constructed of crab orchard stone in collegiate gothic architectural style, give the grounds a peaceful, nurturing atmosphere. The compact setting means that it’s a short walk to well-equipped meeting rooms, delicious meals, and restful sleeping rooms.

The peaceful setting belies the busy schedule of meetings, programs, and educational opportunities available here. The gothic chapel is a popular place for the 100+ weddings held there each year.

The Center has strong commitment to promoting racial equality, cross-cultural understanding, the empowerment of women and spiritual renewal. Your support helps us to offer programs that continue this mission

It has many places to eat in walking distance, the hotel staff is friendly. The room was simple without frills. The room had a beautiful view of the trees outside and with amazing sound of birds singing, but there was dirt around the air vent and a spider web.

I liked the place so much. Its an awesome retreat center. Rooms are basic and not luxurious, you have to share a common bathroom with neighbor next door. CVS is near by which stays open till 12 am, Starbucks is one block away which also stays open till late hours. At the walking distance of 5 minutes there is a whole street full of awesome restaurants and bars which stays open till 3 am. Scarritt Bennett Center itself is a very beautiful place gardens are lovely.

Nice, not too expensive place to stay. It is not a hotel and doesn't have the perks of a hotel room. The rooms are small with only a bed, desk, chair, and rack to hang clothes. The bathroom is shared between two rooms which is kinda inconvenient. But it was perfect since I was there for a conference and didn't spend too much time in the room. It is in walking distance of Vanderbilt University and in a really nice area of Nashville. Restaurants and shops are a 15 minute walk or less. The campus is beautiful.
