Bristol Caverns is one of the oldest and most beautiful attractions in northeast Tennessee and has thrived as one of Bristol's most visited tourist attractions. A modern system of concealed, indirect lighting highlights the natural colors and beauty of the formations for your enjoyment. The tours itself takes you to all three levels of the caverns - from Mayor Preston's Chamber in the upper section to the winding banks of the Underground River 180 feet below on the cavern floor. Along the Underground River, you will be dazzled by dramatical displays of formations reflected in the streams waters. You can also peer over Lover's Leap, view the breathtaking Bridal Veil formation and stare in wonder at the dazzling formations of Entrance Hall. Don't forget to bring your camera!
This place was great! We really enjoyed seeing the natural rock formations. The tour guide was personable, knowledgeable and humorous. Erik was his name and he knows his stuff! Tour was good and just the right length for our boys who are 6 and 8.
A clean facility welcomes you and acts as a gift shop. The caverns are a small walk uphill before you get to the entrance. True walk isn't difficult for someone who can handle hills without problems. The caverns however contains a series of chambers accessible only by stairs. The caverns are well lit and easy to get around if you can handle steps. The chambers are mostly large and shouldn't present an issue with claustrophobia. The gift shop is typical for tourist attractions. Small offerings of stones minerals and tee shirts. Priced higher than a movie ticket but reasonable for the adventure.
The whole family had a very enjoyable tour with our tour guide, Chad. Chad and the rest of the staff were very friendly and warm. This was a perfect stop on a cold January day as the temps in the cavern were a sauna like 60 degrees! We felt very safe and comfortable with our 2&5 year olds participating in the tour. The gift store is nice, too. Very memorable and highly recommend!
Wonderful place underground. The temperature was soothing and our tour guide Garik was knowledgeable. He explained the history of the cavern so well. Will visit again.
So beautiful! It stays 60 degrees all year long. It's so cool to see what mother nature can do!
