About

Cumberland Bend is an intriguing nine-hole layout located in the picturesque Cumberland River Valley, north of Gainesboro. Surrounded by mountains, the 3,381-yard course provides the ultimate golfing experience by combining both natural beauty and challenging play.

The 170-yard. par-3 number 2 seems gentle enough at first, however, once you reach the heavily rolling green, the challenge here will become quite clear. Putting at Cumberland Bend can be an adventure, with sweeping breaks being the order of the day.

The 536-yard par-5 number 3 is a perfect example of a risk/reward type shot. A long tee shot is needed in order to cross the water on your second shot.

The green is reachable in two for long hitters, kin to John Daly. Cumberland Bend made it's debut in 1980. The

traditional-style public course, with bent-grass greens, and watered Bermuda fairways and tees, has become a favorite for golfers, who enjoy natural beauty as part of their playing experience. But be careful. Focus too much on the water, trees and mountains in the background and (he challenges of the course will inflict seriously damage on your score.

Tee-times are not required but shirts and soft-spike shoes are. They accept most major credit cards and have drinks, snacks and refreshments as well as a practice putting green and club rentals.
