Ijams is one of the best places in Knoxville. The park is huge and there's a ton to do. The trails are really nice and easy. There's a little of everything to do here and you can easily spend the whole day there.

A gorgeous place for a picnic or afternoon walk. It’s right in town, so you don’t have to drive up into the GSMNP if you don’t have the time or inclination. The quarry is beautiful year round and there’s a nice, relatively easy trail to get a great view of it from above.

This place is wonderful. Knoxville needs more places like this. Great to escape the city and connect with nature. Dog friendly and a great place to bring the family.

Amazing place hiding in the middle of the city. Trails are great, many choices from beginner to more experienced. The swimming hole is amazing. Has multiple docks to jump off. Never too crowed. Has bathrooms, water rentals and even a snack hut that sells beer. All ages come bring your float because its DEEP.

Only complaint is I wish they would leave the door unlocked for the restrooms at the main entrance. It's a little inconvenient to walk/drive all the way to the quarry to use the restroom. Other than that, it's one of my absolute favorite places. It's great whether I'm there for a walk/run or just to set up the hammock and read/relax. Also, if you're into Pokemon go, they're are stops and gyms all around and tons of mon's!
